How to manually run windows updates with Software Center

  1. Open the Software Center application from the Start Menu



  2. Once Software Center is open click on the Updates Button



  3. After clicking the Updates button, if your computer is in need of updates, you can click on the Install All button


  4. After clicking Install All you should start to see all of the updates downloading and installing.



  5. Once the Update finish installing you will see a prompt to reboot your computer, you can post-pone this reboot for up to 90 minutes but it is best to reboot your computer immediately.



  6. Once your computer reboots you are free to login and begin using your computer again.

How to update UNW Standard Applications

  1. Open the Software Center application from the Start Menu



  2. Once Software Center is open click on the Applications Button



  3. Click on the Application you would like install or update
    1. For a list of the required applications that will install during the next maintenance window, click on the Required button

  4. Click on the Application you wish to update/install and click the Install button



  5. The application will now download and install for you.

  6. Most software does not require a reboot, but if it does you will get a prompt to reboot your machine.
